  9.                    GUIDELINES FOR ECHOLIST ECHO CONFERENCE
  10.  
  11.         These guidelines are designed to clarify the purpose and operation
  12.         of the ECHOLIST echo, and will be posted in the echo conference
  13. |       on the first day of each month.
  14.  
  15. 1.  DESCRIPTION
  16.  
  17.         ECHOLIST is an unrestricted administrative echo, connecting the
  18.         Echolist (Elist) Coordinator and sysops having an interest in
  19.         the contents of the Elist.
  20.  
  21. 2.  PURPOSE
  22.  
  23.         The intent of this echo is to provide public information on echo
  24.         conference updates between the monthly Elist file distribution
  25.         dates.  This echo also provides access to the Elist's author for
  26.         questions about the database which are not answered by the ELMOD
  27.         and ELFAQ help files.
  28.  
  29. 3.  MODERATOR
  30.  
  31.         The Moderator of ECHOLIST is the Echolist Coordinator - 1:1/201.
  32.  
  33. 4.  DISTRIBUTION
  34.  
  35.         Participation in ECHOLIST is open to Moderators, Echomail
  36.         Coordinators, and any sysop having an interest in the Elist and
  37.         its operation.
  38.  
  39. 5.  FEED STRUCTURE
  40.  
  41.         ECHOLIST is carried on the North American Backbone, and is
  42.         listed in its echo list, BACKBONE.NA (formerly fidonet.na).
  43.         Permission is granted to gate this echo to other networks,
  44.         provided that the Echolist Coordinator (1:1/201) is advised in
  45.         advance, and standard gating technical conventions are followed.

  47. 6.  TOPICS
  48.  
  49.         Acceptable postings in this echo are as follows:
  50.  
  51.                 a.  Elist moderator updates posted by 1:1/201
  52.                 b.  Elist status announcements posted by 1:1/201
  53.                 c.  Elist help files posted by 1:1/201
  54.                 d.  Questions from participants about Elist operations
  55.  
  56.         Prohibited in this echo are as follows:
  57.  
  58.                 a.  Flames
  59.                 b.  Commercial advertisements
  60.                 c.  IBM-type "high ASCII" (>127) characters
  61.                 d.  Aliases
  62.                 e.  Messages regarding the moderation of this echo
  63.  
  64. These rules may be posted to the echo by the Moderator as often as he
  65. deems necessary.  Use common sense, people, and we can all get along.
